Pantone has released its colour of the year for 2017. Greenery, a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade symbolises new beginnings, evoking the first days of spring when natures greens revive, restore, and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals individuals to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute, "Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate, revitalise and unite, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose."
Nature’s neutral, PANTONE Greenery is a versatile “trans-seasonal” shade that lends itself to many colour combinations. Greenery provides a pop of colour or acts as a bold accent in a pattern.
Prominent in fashion for men and women, as seen in the recent collections of Kenzo, Michael Kors, Zac Posen and Cynthia Rowley, Greenery has also been shown in a variety of solids and prints in children’s wear. Greenery blends fashion and tech as well, as a prominent colour for wearables and activewear.

Pantone says there's no direct connection to the consumer as they don't sell anything related to the colour choice, or license it to companies. Still, don't be surprised if you start seeing a lot of spring green ... springing up soon!
