COLOUR CRUSH: BURGUNDY
14:12:00WHY I LOVE BURGUNDY
I have always had this love affair with the colour burgundy and instantly get attracted to anything in the burgundy hue. There is something so rich, beautiful and sophisticated about the colour burgundy, that this is one colour you want to add to your closet.
Even though burgundy is the go to colour to fall / winter, to me it is a great colour to wear all year round including the warmer summer months, especially if you’re not someone who loves pastels, wearing a colour like burgundy means you still get to break out some colour during the summer, and what makes this colour even more great is that it is actually flattering for all skin tones.
Wear it head to toe by mixing up textures along the way to keep it from looking too flat and matchy. A great way to add burgundy to your summer closet is to get staple pieces that you can transition into both seasons, dresses, shoes, scarfs, accessories all work great.
Burgundy is one of those colours that can look good paired with almost any other colour, but if you are trying to keep things simple, combining staple colours like black and white or burgundy and nude will make sure that that stunning burgundy number is the highlight of your outfit, but if you want to be adventurous in your choice of colour, try pairing it with mustard or burgundy and orange. Burgundy instantly adds a degree of sophistication to your outfit.
If the monochromatic burgundy look is to fashion forward for you, add subtle pops of burgundy into our outfit. A simple way to do this is by adding a burgundy hat, scarf, bag, shoes or any burgundy accessories. It’s understated and an effortless way to rock the burgundy look.
